Volcandpark 1st conference, 21-25 May 2012

Volcandpark is the first congress on the management of protected volcanic areas, including raising pubic awareness and geotourism. It aims to provide a forum for reflection and debate, combining knowledge of volcanology with land management and disseminating this information to the people who work in these volcanic areas. (National Parks, Natural Parks, Nature Reserves, etc.).

7th International Symposium ProGEO on the Conservation of the Geological Heritage

The Italian Society of Environmental Geology (SIGEA) and the European Association for the Conservation of the Geological Heritage (ProGEO) organise the 7th International Symposium on the Conservation of the Geological Heritage. People (professionals, academics, students) dealing with nature conservation, geotourism, geoparks, education, management, sustainable development, planning and decision-making, and other topics related to the theme of "geoheritage" are invited to participate and encouraged to present their data/experiences by submission of short abstracts.

Nine sites added to Global Geoparks Network

The Global Geoparks Network Bureau admitted nine new members in seven countries during the 10th European Geoparks Conference, which took place in the Gea Norwegica Geopark (Norway) from 16 to 18 September. The Global Network of National Geoparks, created under the aegis of UNESCO in 2004, now numbers 87 Geoparks in 27 countries around the world.


BRAZILIAN SYMPOSIUM ON GEOLOGICAL HERITAGE is an event that is of great importance in defining the course of geological research in the country. Ripening fruit of a more than six years, when he first came to discussing this theme within the conference, this symposium a consolidated volume of research and actions that indicate a shift in the thinking of geosciences.

Geoparks Week 2011, 22nd May - 5th June

The European Geoparks Week, taking place at late May early June each year, is a European - wide festival of Geoparks aimed at raising public awareness of geoconservation and promotion of the geological heritage as well as events aimed at informing the wide public about geotouristic and educational activities in geoparks.
Events are varied and include public talks, activity days for schools, guided walks, exhibitions, workshops ,etc.

3rd Geotourism Conference, 30 October to 1 November 2011 OMAN
